Rebecca Sostarko

Rebecca is Senior Adviser – Safety, Contracts & Workplace Relations for Master Builders Australia and has numerous responsibilities within the three key policy areas of national interest to the Building and Construction Industry, with the priority being WHS.

She is currently appointed to a number of government/industry consultative committees such as those facilitated by the Australian Building and Construction Commission, Standards Australia, Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner, Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency, Fair Work Commission and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Rebecca recently returned from the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva where she represented Australia to revise its code of practice on safety and health in construction.
Prior to her current role, Rebecca practiced as a Construction Dispute Resolution Lawyer and tutored in Construction Law at the University of Canberra. She was also Director of a family-owned building company for over a decade which provided her with an in-depth understanding of residential building and the associated regulatory issues faced by small businesses in the sector.
