Share your experience by presenting at the 2024 Australian Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Management Conference

The Australian Asbestos & Hazardous Materials Management Conference 2024 aims to foster a collaborative environment among local governments, industry and government agencies.

This event will highlight the importance of working together on innovative hazardous materials management and WHS compliance through sharing experiences, research and best practices. Emphasising the critical role of cross-sector collaboration and community engagement in promoting environmental and public health, we seek speakers from diverse backgrounds who are leading the way in hazardous materials management, environmental science, and WHS.

This conference offers a unique platform for learning, networking and advancing our collective efforts towards a sustainable and safe environment. Join us to share your insights and contribute to shaping a safer, more sustainable future.

The theme for the conference is Working together for a safe and healthy future

With the categories for submission being:

  • Healthy homes
  • Healthy workplaces
  • Healthy communities
  • Healthy environment

 

The 2024 Conference is a hybrid event, with a live, in-person hub in the Blue Mountains, NSW. Alongside this will be a simultaneous virtual component through a dedicated conference platform.

Presentations will be 30 minutes in length, including question time. Research and  case studies can also be presented in a poster session format.

Guidelines

Please follow our guidelines below to submit your abstract correctly. Before commencing the submission process, please note:

  • Submissions must be written in English.
  • Abstracts submitted for presentation will be reviewed exactly as received and should be checked for spelling and grammar prior to submission.
  • Abstracts must be submitted as text, with the following headings: 1. Introduction, 2. Presentation outline, 3. Reference to theme, 4. Conclusion
  • Where there is more than one presenter all correspondence will be sent to the person who submitted the abstract.
 

Every effort will be made to accommodate the presenter / author presentation preference; however, the Conference Program Committee reserves the right to allocate the presentation to best suit the program.

The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the Conference. Similarly, no presenter fee is paid to successful abstract presenters.

Accepted abstract presenters will receive a 50% discount on conference registrations.

All abstract submissions will be reviewed by the Conference Organising Committee and notified by email.
