About the conference

Blue Mountains City Council is pleased to invite you to the 2024 Australian Asbestos & Hazardous Materials Management Conference, to be held on 17 – 18 October 2024 at the Fairmont Resort & Spa in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage listed Blue Mountains.

This important national 2-day conference, with a special focus on frontline asbestos safety and hazardous materials management, includes a series of plenary sessions, workshops and networking activities. The conference is a hybrid event, offering delegates the opportunity to either attend in-person or livestream the event.

Every year, an estimated 4,000 Australians die from asbestos-related diseases. This number is four times the annual road toll.

By fostering a collaborative cross-sector collaboration, we can work towards a safe and healthy future for all.

We look forward to welcoming you

Jason Adams – Manager Safety and Hazardous Materials, Blue Mountains City Council

Working within the asbestos and hazardous materials industry is rewarding, complex and ever-changing.

Throughout Australia there are many organisations who are leading the way in creating new initiatives to improve hazardous materials management within the built and natural environment. This conference gives you a unique opportunity to learn from these case studies, exchange ideas with your peers, and collaborate with others in the industry.

Together we can continue to strengthen our management of asbestos and hazardous materials as we continue to face the challenges of the future.

We look forward to welcoming you to the 2024 Asbestos & Hazardous Materials Management Conference in the beautiful City of Blue Mountains.
