Blue Mountains City Council is pleased to invite you to the 2024 Australian Asbestos & Hazardous Materials Management Conference, to be held on 17 – 18 October 2024 at the Fairmont Resort & Spa in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage listed Blue Mountains.
This important national 2-day conference, with a special focus on frontline asbestos safety and hazardous materials management, includes a series of plenary sessions, workshops and networking activities. The conference is a hybrid event, offering delegates the opportunity to either attend in-person or livestream the event.
Every year, an estimated 4,000 Australians die from asbestos-related diseases. This number is four times the annual road toll.
By fostering a collaborative cross-sector collaboration, we can work towards a safe and healthy future for all.

This conference is for anyone involved in the asbestos and hazardous materials management system. It will particularly benefit those who are involved in asbestos and hazardous materials safety management on the front line, and in turn, those who are responsible for setting the regulatory environment. It will provide an opportunity for policy makers to hear first-hand of the experiences and challenges of those dealing with asbestos and hazardous materials related issues day to day.
