Tracey Browne holds a position of Manager, National Safety and Workers’ Compensation Policy and Membership Services at the Australian Industry Group.

Tracey has been part of Ai Group’s national team focusing on Work Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation since July 2001. The team provides membership, consulting and training services across the full range of WHS/OHS and workers compensation issues.
A major focus of Tracey’s current role in Ai Group is to ensure that member views and interests, related to OHS/WHS and workers’ compensation, are communicated to government, regulators and other relevant bodies, when legislative and policy changes are being considered, and to initiate change where appropriate.
Tracey holds the Ministerial appointment for Ai Group as a member of the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Council And chairs the Agency’s Management and Removal Committee.
She also holds the Ministerial appointment as a member of Safe Work Australia.
Tracey participates in Safe Work Australia strategic working groups and in state-based consultation with WHS and workers’ compensation regulators and workers’ compensation scheme managers.
Tracey has an indepth understanding of WHS/OHS and workers’ compensation laws across Australia, which she combines with her industry experience to provide members with practical information and advice about their obligations, to aid compliance and assist businesses to achieve best practice.
Prior to joining Ai Group Tracey spent 15 years in management positions in Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation management, particularly in the manufacturing sector.
Tracey has a Bachelor of Business, a Master of Applied Science (OHS) and a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training, and is a certified Mental Health First Aider.
Tracey maintains the following professional memberships: Chartered Professional Member, Safety Institute of Australia; and Certified Professional, Australian Human Resources Institute.
