As the Education Coordinator for NE Waste, Linda works closely with member Councils on community engagement programs and regional communication campaigns which have been shared state-wide. She has extensive experience in waste management and resource recovery in state, local and NGO’s – working in this sector for over 25 years.
Regional campaigns Linda has produced include #RecycleRight and North East Waste’s FOGO education campaign, both of which have been aired on TV, radio and media across the Northern Rivers. Linda works collaboratively with member Councils, state government, business and stakeholders to drive behaviour change and ensure clear consistent messages are delivered across the north coast region.
Most recently Linda helped to establish, and is the weekly guest on ABC Radio North Coast’s, Talking Rubbish segment, which is an opportunity to literally talk all things rubbish and recycling! During the floods this year, this proved to be one of the only ways to be able to highlight to the community about what to do with flood-affected waste, including asbestos since most other forms of communication were down.
*North East Waste is a group of councils on the North Coast of New South Wales, working together towards cost-effective waste management solutions. The member councils include: Ballina Shire, Byron Shire, Clarence Valley, Lismore City, Kyogle, Richmond Valley and Tweed Shire.
