Erin Lottey

Erin Lottey is a Project Manager for the City of Parramatta Council, managing and coordinating Council’s response to James Hardie legacy sites within the Parramatta Local Government Area.
Initially thought to be limited to bonded material and pose little risk, these legacy sites represent areas where the asbestos waste products associated with James Hardie’s manufacturing plants were disposed as fill. Following the discovery of friable asbestos within surface soils in residential backyards in 2016, Erin has been one of a number of people within Council and state agencies working to ensure this issue is appropriately quantified, recognised, reported, and managed.

Working with City of Parramatta, Erin has experienced this issue from a number of perspectives, including as advocate for affected residents and landowners; as regulator, consent authority, or A.R.A of affected land; as the employer of staff who work within affected land (PCBU); and, as the land owner / manager of affected public land.
Erin has a background in governance, investigations, and local government law.
