Carolyn Walsh

Carolyn Walsh has 35 years’ experience in the Commonwealth and NSW public services, focusing on industry, science and transport issues.
Carolyn is the Chair of the New South Wales Asbestos Coordination Committee. She is also Chair of the National Transport Commission and a member of the Board of the NSW Environment Protection Authority. She provides consultancy services in safety and risk management.

Carolyn is a former Commissioner of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (2010-2020) and has served on the Boards of the NSW WorkCover Authority and the Sydney Metro Authority. From 2004 to 2009, Carolyn was Chief Executive of NSW’s Independent Transport Safety and Reliability Regulator (ITSRR) – the rail safety regulator in NSW.

Carolyn has a Bachelor of Economics degree, qualifications in risk management and auditing, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

She is a self-confessed cricket tragic and a lover of musical theatre.
